customer appreciation day
May 19, 2010 - District Energy St. Paul
More than 60 heating and cooling customers attended the Customer Appreciation open house. Guests enjoyed tours of the CHP plant and learned more about what it means to be connected to an integrated district energy system. The event presented an opportunity for the District Energy staff to thank customers for their business and recommit our vision to promote energy conservation and continue a high standard of customer service. Customer Satisfaction surveys were available for completion and a drawing was held for six lucky winners who received gift certificates from local restaurants on the district heating and cooling system.

Lessons from sweden
April 3, 2009 - District Energy St. Paul
District Energy and The BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota hosted a presentation and a tour to discuss how Minnesota can benefit from Sweden's renewable energy policy and industry achievements. The event was well attended by representatives from the Department of Natural Resources, the Cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, legislators and staff, and a variety of industry and non-profit interests.

January 27, 2009 - District Energy St. Paul
Guests of the Minnesota International Center's International Visitor Leadership Program visited District Energy to discuss how our company is a model of energy efficiency, diversity and affordability. The guests included five international visitors from Germany and two interpreters who are examining how clean energy initiatives can have a positive effect on climate change. U.S. ambassadors have rated the International Visitor Leadership Program the most useful public diplomacy tool of all State Department programs.

U.S. CAPITOL VISITORS TOUR DISTRICT ENERGY FACILITY
May 2, 2008 - District Energy St. Paul
Dan Beard, Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. House of Representatives, and Congresswoman Betty McCollum visited and toured our renewable energy facilities.
Mr. Beard is responsible for "greening" the United States Capitol building and adjacent public buildings. The group was very interested in the renewable energy initiatives we have put in place in downtown Saint Paul.

ECO EDUCATION TOUR
January 30, 2008 - District Energy St. Paul
Michael Burns, Vice President, instructed twenty students from Saint Paul's Harding High School about our downtown district energy system, followed by a tour of the combined heat and power plant.

KOREAN TOUR
October 26, 2007 - District Energy St. Paul
Anders Rydaker, President, delivered a presentation and tour to a group of 10 people from South Korea interested in learning more about renewable energy and our wood-burning combined heat and power plant.

PRESIDENTAL TOUR AND VISIT
May 17, 2001 - District Energy St. Paul
President George W. Bush toured District Energy St. Paul before delivering his first major energy policy address to the nation. In that address the President called District Energy a model of energy efficiency, diversity and affordability.
