Tours

District Energy’s expertise results in many presentation requests from local, national, and international organizations and conferences. One month advance notice is recommended to best accommodate a group’s preferred date and time.

Plant tours are only available for adults over the age of 18. Youth tours are available for the solar installation.

Both the plant and solar tours require access through stairways. Tour organizers should discuss any accessibility concerns with District Energy staff prior to scheduling.

Guests should wear flat, closed-toe shoes. Due to safety restrictions guests will not be allowed in the plant with sandals, heels or open-toed shoes. Hard hats, safety glasses and ear plugs are required and will be provided.

Street parking is available, but most meters are limited to one hour. Ramp parking is available at the Science Museum of Minnesota or the Saint Paul RiverCentre. The plant and the solar installation are within walking distance of most downtown hotels, colleges, and businesses. The plant is within two blocks of Nice Ride stations and Metro Transit bus stops.
