Darren Tobolt
Darren currently works in external relations at Dakota County and previously served as a Commissioner at Ramsey County, where his work focused on climate resiliency efforts across all areas of the county. During his time at Ramsey County, he had the opportunity to collaborate with Saint Paul District Energy and developed a strong appreciation for its mission and impact. He is excited to serve on the board to represent Saint Paul residents and to support the city’s ongoing efforts to build a resilient community that is always looking for innovative ways to better serve both people and the environment.
In addition to his local government experience, Darren has served on numerous civic, community, and city boards and commissions. He currently serves as a Saint Paul Charter Commissioner and recently retired from the Capital Improvement Investment Budget Committee.
Darren resides in a drafty brick house in the West Seventh Neighborhood of Saint Paul, where his personal experience fuels his interest in cost-effective, clean energy solutions. Outside of his professional and civic work, he enjoys biking the regional trails along the Mississippi River, hiking in the Driftless Region, exploring craft breweries, and photographing recycling containers from around the world.
